Day 11 We started off our work day with our warm up sketches to get ready for a challenging task my dad has asked us to do. We are taking our 3d drawing skills to the next step with sketching lighit fixtures around my house. We drew how the lighit fixture hung from the ceiling, the basic shape with some deatials and, how the lighit was shining off the fixture. Oscar and I then watched Dark city taking active notes and seeing how the buildings and the structures set the mood for the movie.  Hours 6
Day 12  For our last day of seinor project we did our warm up sketches with my dad, helping us with our sketches and talking to us about the movie we watched yesterday and what we thoghot and seeing what my dad had to say about it. When my dad left for work we then moved into makeing our presentation for express fest with all of my moms art supplys. After a couple of hours we made a what will be the best presentation at 2022 express fest.
blog 8   Oscar and I went to my cottage to get of the city for a little bit. While we were there we did our normal sketching warm-ups before we did the assignment my dad assigned for us to do. My dad wanted us to do a doll house sketch for our cottage. This was the one of the more challenging sketches we’ve done yet. We had to cut from the master bedroom on the top floor to the living room and then to basement with the in door basketball court.
Week 2  Week two was a lot of fun thanks to my dad. He had us going on different field trips to have to see what we were learning actually applies to the real world. We went to his produce farm to see what a building needs to have to accommodate so many plants. One thing I learned that I thought was cool was that is how they made all the hallways around the building against the exterior wall so that when winter comes they didn’t need to give more care to plants that would be against that wall. We then saw a hotel plaza that my dad is working on and we were able to see the floor plans and compare them to the building that didn’t have exterior walls so we were able to look inside and see how the plans match the building. Two of the main goals that I feel that I fully accomplished were to understand the steps to putting up a building and how to go about making a floor plan for buildings; and my overall sketching ability. I learned about floor plans around my father's mall and on...

May 20 My Friday morning began with my departure from home and on to Toronto where I participated in a weekend of practices for the macabia basketball team. I made my way to the train station where I planned out what I was going to do during the 5-hour train ride. Firstly, I began the ride by sketching the floor plan of a train cart and was happy with what I was able to come up with after I was wrapped up with the final product. I then watched an hour and a half worth of Frank Gehry's master class. I learned a lot about architecture and the tedious process of perfecting an idea that can ultimately turn into something much bigger than one might think. Lastly, I spent the remainder of the train ride sketching potential architectural masterpieces and watching videos on how an architect thinks when beginning a project. 5 hours
May 17 We started the day at 8:30 with contour drawing and a bunch of feature drawings. Oscar and I then moved into designing our bridge to go inside the mall. My dad then took us on a field trip to go see Vicky Caspi and help her look at some floor plans for her new astronomy building that's getting built next year. Oscar and I then closed off our day at 6:00 with some poutine. 9.5 hours
May 16 Oscar and I were out of the house early this morning to go on a field trip to see two different job sites that my dad is working on. My favourite was a condo/apartment complex that just has the supports done. My dad had pages and pages of plans for this complex breaking down every inch of space. My dad then went on to explain the significance of each floor plan, the architecture's floor plan, the engineering floor plan and the electrician's floor plan. We then took a break for lunch back home. Oscar and I then did some contour drawing in my backyard, my dad said we needed to work on our contour drawings so we did. We then moved into watching Inception and taking out the important architectural parts and looking at how the surrounding buildings affect each scene of the movie.  hours 8.5

Week one

This week my dad put Oscar and I in a architecture intensive class with around 7 hours of work a day. When I talked to my dad before senior project, he was very prepared and excited for Oscar and me to come down and learn from him. We start every day with a warm up this could be a contour drawing of my dad's office plant or drawing a Picasso sketch upside down to unlock the right side of the brain drawing. My dad has done an amazing job with filling our hours with work and making it a good time. After we warm up my dad sends us either around the Mall to draw something or to find a way to make a space more efficient or he sends us on a field trip to a museum or to a building that was designed a certain way that he found important to us to see and sketch. For Oscar and I to be having such a good time doing these hours of something we never showed any interest in the past is very unexpected. We are ready to learn from my dad and we want to learn from him every day. My dad also has...
May 13 Oscar and I decided to sleep in and get into work at 10:30 we did some warm up drawing extra sizes . We started with contour sketching a plant and using a sheet of plexiglass to turn 3d objects into 2d drawings. After getting something to eat and sketching the restaurant while we ate Oscar and I went to the Marry Queen of the world cathedral. My dad wanted us to do a basic floor plan sketch just getting the general shape of the church and the big things inside. We also focused on sketching a wall or a statue we liked. After being in church for a while we decided to get some fresh air and go to the park close by for a challenge . The challenge was to sketch the bridge inside the park, my dad has tried before but it is a tough bridge to get all the details and the correct shape on to paper. My dad then showed us the Sunlife building and broke down the different components on the outside of the building like the use of columns. We then walk back to the office to do some work...
may 12   Oscar and I drove to the office with my dad and dropped my sister off at school on the way. We started off the day by getting warmed up with some drawing exercises like drawing the negative space around a chair. After getting warmed up we drew a dollhouse sketch of the mall's atrium getting the columns and different floors in our sketch. My dad then put Oscar and I in the car and we drove to the Airport to sketch out the pickup and drop off awning. We then we walked around the airport with my dad explaining to us why this building is so cool. When we got back to the office my dad took out wooded figures and we did gesture drawings. hours 7.30
May 11 Oscar and I woke up and got on the bus to head to my dad's office for another day of architecture and sketching. We started to work at 9:00 by sketching with our right side of our brain with certain exercises my dad gave us. We then went straight into designing our indoor bridge for the mall. My dad then sent us to the architecture museum of designs, we walked over there because it was a beautiful day. Oscar and I then walked around the museum sitting at different spots sketching the sculptures and the building around us. We found a nice dumpling place nearby for lunch before heading home. Once we got home we watch some videos my dad sent us about turning 3d objects into 2d drawings using different exercises the video gave us.  hours 7
May 10  Oscar and I head to my dad's office and start work with an l discussion led by dad about site management, which was basically seeing what you need to do to put together a nice site and what people you would need to help out. After the discussion my dad wanted us to start sketching so he showed us how to draw on the right side of the brain. The right and left sides of our brain are very different, the left side puts a name with the object your looking at and the right side just focuses on the shapes of the object. My dad then gave us some drawing exercises to bring out the right side of our brains. My dad then showed us how to sketch our perception of spaces. It’s about drawing the space in a basic way of showing the room's important parts. We then took a 20-minute break and started back up at 1:50 with my dad showing us examples of property management around the mall he works at. My dad has a big tenet coming into his mall that wants around 20,000 square feet. We spen...
May 9 We started our day by going to my dad's office at 10:30 not knowing what my dad had in store for us. Oscar and I sat down on the couch and had a discussion led by my dad about the bare bones of architecture floor planning/sketching and broken it down into four concepts; Points, lines, planes, and volume. That lesson ended at 11:30. We then took the new skills we learned about the basics of sketching a space and applied them to places like the metro cars and the mall. Oscar and I had fun with this one, we sketched for 3 hours with my dad budding in for quick lessons and tips for our drawings. After sketching we all grabbed lunch. We picked back up at 4:30 with a lesson about the prestige of architecture and Starchitects and how cool it would be to be a Sarchitect, we ended that lesson at 6:45. Oscar and I then went home to eat dinner with my family and after dinner, we watched one and a half episodes of an architectural and abstract art show called Abstract The Art of Design...
