Week one
This week my dad put Oscar and I in a architecture intensive class with around 7 hours of work a day. When I talked to my dad before senior project, he was very prepared and excited for Oscar and me to come down and learn from him. We start every day with a warm up this could be a contour drawing of my dad's office plant or drawing a Picasso sketch upside down to unlock the right side of the brain drawing. My dad has done an amazing job with filling our hours with work and making it a good time. After we warm up my dad sends us either around the Mall to draw something or to find a way to make a space more efficient or he sends us on a field trip to a museum or to a building that was designed a certain way that he found important to us to see and sketch. For Oscar and I to be having such a good time doing these hours of something we never showed any interest in the past is very unexpected. We are ready to learn from my dad and we want to learn from him every day. My dad also has a list of videos and movies that he wants us to watch and take notes on with us. This week's benefit was finding this interest in architecture that brings me to take out my sketchbook at the bus stop to sketch the building in front of me. It gets me off my phone and gets me to appreciate the little things around me as well. I am very happy with how this week went and I am excited to see what this next week brings Oscar and I.
